Choose a measurement tool
Find Point, Distance, Circle, Area, Angle, Height, Azimuth, Volume, Sphere Volume, and Profile.
Before you start
Open a workspace scene in the 3D Editor.
Who can do this
Members with Editor access. Editing actions depend on your role and the shared view permissions.
Steps
- Open Measure in the Editor mode toolbar.
- Choose the named tool from the measurement dock. Use Point for coordinates; Distance, Area, Angle, Circle, Height, or Azimuth for geometry; Volume or Sphere Volume for 3D regions; and Profile for an elevation path.
- Place the required points or volume in the viewport. Right-click to finish tools that accept an open-ended series of points.
- Select the measurement in the Outliner to inspect it, then save the scene.
What you should see
The new measurement is visible in the scene and Outliner.
If something goes wrong
- If a required metadata dialog appears, complete it before placing the measurement.
- Check Measurement Unit in Scene Settings before comparing values with another source.
