Measure an Area
Use the Editor’s Area tool to measure a scene.
Before you start
Open a workspace scene in the 3D Editor.
Who can do this
Members with Editor access. Editing actions depend on your role and the shared view permissions.
Steps
- Open Measure in the Editor mode toolbar.
- Choose Area from the measurement tools. If a Create fields dialog appears, complete the required fields first.
- Click each corner of the area. Right-click after the final corner to finish the closed shape.
- Select the new item in the Outliner to inspect or rename it. Save the scene when you want to keep the change.
What you should see
Nimbus displays the closed area and its edge measurements.
If something goes wrong
- If the tool is unavailable, check that the scene has finished loading and that your access includes editing.
- For an inaccurate result, check the scene measurement unit and move the markers or volume handles to the intended positions.
