Create a geometry object

Add a Box, Sphere, Cylinder, Plane, Cone, or Torus to a scene.

Before you start

Open a workspace scene in the 3D Editor.

Who can do this

Members with Editor access. Editing actions depend on your role and the shared view permissions.

Steps

  1. Open the Editor Tools or Geometry toolbar and choose Create.
  2. Select Box, Sphere, Cylinder, Plane, Cone, or Torus.
  3. Select the new item in the Outliner and use the transform handles to set its location, rotation, and scale.
  4. Use the Inspector for object properties and material settings, then save the scene.

What you should see

The geometry object is visible and can be selected in the Outliner.

If something goes wrong

  • If Create is unavailable, check your edit access and whether the viewer has finished loading.
  • If the object is out of view, select it in the Outliner and focus the camera on it.
