Move, rotate, and scale an object

Use transform handles or precise Inspector fields to position scene objects.

Before you start

Open a workspace scene in the 3D Editor.

Who can do this

Members with Editor access. Editing actions depend on your role and the shared view permissions.

Steps

  1. Select the object in the viewport or Outliner.
  2. Choose Handle (Q), Translate (E), Rotate (R), or Scale (T) from the transform controls.
  3. Drag the visible handle in the viewport. For a precise value, enter Location, Rotation, or Scale in the Inspector when that field is available.
  4. Check the result from another angle and save the scene.

What you should see

The selected object has the intended transform.

If something goes wrong

  • A locked object or one inside a locked group cannot be changed until it is unlocked with the required access.
  • If handles are hard to see, select the object again in the Outliner.
