3D Editor

Find the right 3D Editor tool

Choose Explore, Measure, Deviation, Crop, Bookmark, or Import, then use the Outliner and Inspector to finish the task.

Before you start

Open a workspace scene in the 3D Editor.

Who can do this

Members with Editor access. Editing actions depend on your role and the shared view permissions.

Steps

  1. Open a workspace scene. The viewport is in the middle, with scene objects in the Outliner and selected-object settings in the Inspector.
  2. Choose Explore to navigate, Measure for point and shape measurements, or Deviation for scan-to-model comparison.
  3. Use Crop to add a clip box, Bookmark to mark a place, and Import to add a local file. Inside a POI, Bookmark changes to Annotate.
  4. Select an item in the Outliner to rename, show, hide, lock, or inspect it. Save editable work before leaving.

What you should see

You can identify the tool family for a task and where its settings appear.

If something goes wrong

  • A control may be hidden in a compact layout or unavailable for your role.
  • If Deviation is disabled, exit the active POI first.
